Wes Doll
WESLEY CONRAD DOLL

April 25, 1950 - July 12, 2013

It is with deep sorrow that the family of Wesley Conrad Doll announces his passing at the age of 63.

Wes is survived by his mother Inga Doll, his children Quentin and Krista Doll and their mother Jackie Doll. Wes will also be dearly missed by his little dog Scooter.

Wes spent his early years in Arborg, MB and at the age of 11 moved with his Mom to Winnipeg. Wes attended Sisler High School and joined the school band where his love of music took root.

With this new found passion for music in his early teens he and four friends formed a band called "The Lost and Found" which was later renamed "Thee Mournin' Missed". Wes was also an original member of "The Love Cyrcle" and wrote many wonderful songs including "Never Leave Me Never", a #1 Canadian hit in 1969. Wes toured Western Canada with Love Cyrcle until he married Jackie; then his focus became his family. His music legacy is a wonderful and lasting gift to his family and those that enjoyed his music.

Wes worked in the corrugated container industry for 37 years and with his brilliance and dogged determination to make things work better, he developed four international patents. He was highly regarded by those who recognized his contributions to the industry. Wes retired at 57 and spent his last years focusing on his music and his love for guitars.

Wes had a wonderful sense of humour and will be remembered by his family and friends for his one-liners and practical jokes. Special thanks to Michael Gillespie, Wes' friend for 47 years who has been so helpful and supportive at this difficult time.

Wes is also survived by Uncle Pall Palsson, Aunt Gudren (Rob) Tait, uncles Larus, Oli, Siggi and Victor Palsson; cousins Valerie (Doug) Anderson, Pat (Victor) Eyolfson, Raymond (Kathy) Palsson, Roslyn (Morley) Sigvaldason, Deanna (Blair) Fridfinnson, Ralph Tait, Paula (Irvin) Biluk, Bruce (Cheryl) Tait, Pam Tait, Linda (Ken) Foster, Greg (Laureen) Palsson, Elaine (Ron) Shoemaker, Ernest (Brenda) Palsson, David Palsson. Predeceased by father Wallace Doll, grandparents Larus and Elin Palsson; aunts Beatrice Valstyn, Sigurros (Pall) Palsson, Margaret (Larus) Palsson and uncle Hjalti Palsson.

Cremation has taken place. In accordance with his wishes, a celebration of Wes' life will be held at a later date for family and friends. "He leads me beside the still waters, He restores my soul" - 23rd Psalm
