"The Jazz Babies," appearing at the
Strand for the first half of this week,
are an interesting aggregation, including
seven men and one juvenile lady.
Their act is necessarily of the boisterous
order, but it is attractive and popular -
making as big a hit as any in its line
appeared in Winnipeg for a long time.

With the continued popularity of Jazz
Jazz music it was only a matter of time
before some of the local artists devoted
their time to this new form of
entertainment. The Winnipeg Jazz
Babies are a classy aggregation of jazz
artists, consisting of seven young boys,
proficient on two or more instruments, and
with them is Marjorie Guthrie, of the
Winnipeg Kiddies. In a recent
engagement at the Strand theatre the act
made a decided hit and secured for them an
engagement at the Orpheum theatre where
they were congratulated by Manager
Saccett. The Jazz band will give a
performance for the returned soldiers this
evening, rain or shine, at Tuxedo Military
hospital, at 8 o'clock. Among other
artists assisting at the concert will be
Miss Goldie Diner, well-know local singer
of popular songs; Baby Maressa, child
comedienne and dancer, and others.
The concert is being arranged by Phil
Mendelson.

"The Jazz Babies" scored another hit last
night at a dance in Manitoba Hall, when a
record crowd danced to the "Jazzy" music
of the band. The "Jazz Babies"
rendered a fine selected programme and
proved that they have a splendid
reputation. On account of the
success of last night's dance,
arrangements are being made to hold
another at the Manitoba Hall next
week. Marjorie Guthrie scored a hit
with her popular song numbers.

The Original Winnipeg Jazz Babies, who
have just completed a tour of western
Canada, will hold a home-coming dance at
the Royal Alexandra Hotel on Friday of
this week. This is the first of a
series of dances the Jazz Babies will
hold.
This Winnipeg aggregation of young men
took the west by storm and their name has
travelled through coast to coast.
Each one is an artist on his instrument,
and it is expected Friday will be a record
night.
