Johnny B. Dietrich is a Métis
singer/songwriter, born and raised in
Portage la Prairie, Manitoba,
Canada. During his long career, he
has played in several country/country rock
bands, travelling throughout Manitoba,
Saskatchewan, and Ontario.
He has recorded and released two albums -
Dreams Come True in 2005 and My
Old Hometown in 2008. A pair
of singles from these recordings reached
No. 1 and No. 2 on the top 40 national
aboriginal charts in western Canada.
A single - When You Walked Into My
Life - was released in 2022.
Dietrich describes his music as a mixture
of country/country rock and
bluegrass. His music is available on
Spotify and Apple Music. Multiple
YouTube channels feature Johnny's music.
Dietrich is also one of the main
organizers of the annual "Voices of the
Prairie" concert in Portage La Prairie
that brings together musicians from across
Manitoba to raise money for local
charities.
